Save Oil By Using The Best Lubrication

Every one has their ideas about saving oil. But very few people are doing anything about conservation. Most people believe saving oil begins with some one else like the government, the auto manufacturers, the tire makers, etc. It begins with you and me as consumers.

The fact is that, on the average, cars are getting no better mileage than they were 25 years ago. Unfortunately, today car owners see poor gas mileage. Cars in the 1930's, like this Willys Whippet, were getting 25+ mpg. So what’s going on? Why are we not saving oil? For one thing, fuel economy standards have not been updated by Congress since 1987. And pickups and SUVs are exempted from the fuel-economy standards that apply to cars. There will be no changes until we as consumers stop buying their bull! And when changes do come they will be at our expense and the big corporation’s profit.

Believe it or not, there is one big advancement in the oil industry in the last 30 years that could save billions of barrels of oil each year in the U.S.A. alone. And, folks it is available right now. But the big problem is you and me! We simple refuse to change our thinking and habits. Mark Twain said, ‘Most people don’t know half of what they think they know’. And that is so true when it comes to engine lubrication.

Did you know that the price of motor oil has more than doubled over the last 2 years? While we’re watching the gas price we haven’t noticed that motor oil has also skyrocketed. And we accept it and go on with our do nothing attitude. You can step out above the average consumer who just complain and never take action! I am sick and tired of being bullied by big oil and I’ve done something about it! All my vehicles now use pure 100% U.S. made synthetic motor oil. I am saving oil and saving money!

A word of caution. Not all advertised synthetic oils are synthetic! How can that be? Here's what happened, according to a detailed account first published in the trade magazine Lubricants World. Late in 1997, Castrol changed the formula of its Syntec "full synthetic motor oil", eliminating the polyalphaolefin (PAO) base stock (that's the "synthetic" part, which makes up about 70% by volume of what's in the bottle) and replacing it with a "hydroisomerized" petroleum base stock.

It’s a long story about Mobil-1 taking Castrol to court over misleading advertising, but in the end the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus sided with Castrol's position for a looser description, defining “synthetic” as “the product of an intended chemical reaction.” So, Consumer beware! Many petroleum base motor oils are now labeled Synthetic.

If we all switched over to 100% pure synthetic motor oil we could save billions of barrels of petroleum oil every year. All my vehicles are using 100% pure synthetic oil made right here in the U.S.A. In fact, my Dodge Ram Cummins diesel no longer requires oil changes!

Now before you think I’ve lost my mind, let me tell you a little something about my self. I’ve rebuilt both diesel and gas engines. And I’ve seen the results of poor maintenance and cheap oil. I’ve heard all the arguments about oil quality, oil change, and so on. Most of the discussions are based on myths by misinformed and misguided people who are educated by the oil company slick advertising influence.
