Aluminum Polish For Diamond Plate
The Easy Way

How to use Aluminum Polish on diamond plate without tearing up your knuckles.

Many years ago my father said to me, I don't mind work but I don't want to do work I don't have to do. So what's the solution to not doing work you don't have to do? Simply finding and using the right products and the right tools. Put them to work for you.

Where do you find the right aluminum polish?. You won't find it at Wally World or your favorite automotive retail chain. If you are loyal to your favorite name brand like Mothers with their Billet Metal Polish, or Meguiars or Boyds aluminum polish ... then you'll just have to get over it because these products just don't cut it in the real world.

Here's an idea...check out a truck stop and you'll see what the guys with the big rigs use for polishing aluminum.

I had a set of alloy wheels that needed to be refinished. So I went over to a friend of mine who is a regular at the Indy 500. He does a fair amount of aluminum work on race cars. He showed me what I needed to use to bring back the shine on those wheels. And then went on to demonstrate the effectiveness of the product. I am often a skeptic as I watch a product demonstration. You know the feeling, 'But will it work for me?' I was impressed and should have known better than to question Dick.

Busch Aluminum Polish cleaned and polished better than any other product I have ever used. It's much different than Mothers or Boyds. Busch Super Shine Aluminum Polish is not a paste but a pink liquid that cuts right through the dirt of neglect to bring back the shine you've always wanted.

The alloy wheels that I refinished still shine today without a clear coat. Now I just wipe them down after I clean the car and touch up with aluminum polish once a year. It really is Twice the shine in half the time!

Make your own polishing block for diamond plate. Here is all you need. A section of carpet, four or eight nails (I use plastic cap roofing nails) and a short length of 2x4. Get the picture?

That’s easy enough. Now when you begin polishing with your brand new polishing block, just go with the flow...follow the diamonds. And when your finished you’ll still have all the skin on your knuckles!

Buff to a chrome like shine with a terry cloth.

If you do not get a fantastic shine then you may need to first clean with the Phosphoric Acid etch.

Next, I want to show how easy it is to keep the shine.
